"Edgerunner" is something only the show used, however the game after the Anime also used it as the name for a skill that has to do with cybernetics and by how it works I would assume an Edgerunner is someone that has a huge amount of cybernetics and is "Running on the edge" of being a cyberpsyco.

How could I forget to recommend Pluto? Its one of my favorite manga and the anime was phenomenal. With only 8 episodes this is a great show for them to react after Cyberpunk

It is worth pointing out that cybernetics are so available and ingrained in the society that despite being absolutely dirt poor in the slums, people still have basic cyberware like usb ports, cosmetic paneling on their body and chips for interacting with payment systems. Its kind of like how even some homeless people have smartphones just because its required to interact with our society but times 10. In this universe its kind of like if you needed to use apple pay to buy anything cause money is digital.
