People that are in Lucy's line of work are just referred to as "Runners" or various other variations like "netrunner" or "edgerunner". They probably just put it here for the sake of any newcomers to the setting.

It's described as a call in both the game and the anime, and is increasingly more like a phone call after you experience it in the game.

2024-10-02 16:36:16 +0000 UTCThey dont explain it in the anime. Think of the People in cyberpunk as computers, their brains are the cpu, ram, and memory. And the cybernetic parts connect to the brain either directly or from the nervous system. But the more powerful the cyberware or the more cyberware you have takes a toll on your mind and body. They need to take immuno suppressants to prevent their bodies from rejecting the parts. And over using the cyberware can strain the brain, if they don't give there brains time to recover it can lead to permanent brain damage. And Cyberpsychos are people with brain damage to an extent that its like dementia. Though not everyone with brain damage is violent. Think of it like people with mentally health problems. You can get cyberware that attach directly to your brain that artificially increase you brains max cpu, memory, and ram which also helps to reduce the strain on your brain do to cyberware. But if the brain implant cyberware get damaged or malfunction they are more likely to cause brain damage and cyberpsychosis.

The slowmo effect is his perception of it because his brain is basically in overdrive. Unfortunately a normal brain can't handle operating at such speeds, hence the nose bleeds. If he overuses it and doesn't give his brain time to heal it can cause permanent brain damage (aka cyberpsychosis if the brain damage leads to hostile tendencys)
