I saw a really clear explanation somewhere (twt or reddit I forget) about Toji that I'm gonna share here but basically: Toji really cared about Megumi, enough that he named him Megumi (usually a female name) to help hide his existence from the Zenin clan—that rejected Toji because of his heavenly pact with no cursed energy. Once Megumi started showing signs of a possible inherited technique, he kinda realizes oh this kid isn't gonna be like me and the clan will really take care of him, especially if its an inherited clan technique. Toji was still a gambler and it was shitty of him to "sell" his child to the clan, but Toji was also thinking at the time that Megumi would have a better life taken in by the Zenins than an outlaw life that Toji was leading at that time. At the end of Toji's final battle with Gojo, his last thoughts are of his family and his kid, which he then realizes that he sold his child to the people who are just shitty to anyone who they don't deem as useful (Toji). Although he thought Megs would have a better life since he has cursed energy, the people in the Zenin clan are still the same shitty people and they wouldn't take care of Megs in the way Toji's wife was asking him to do. So he tells Gojo about Megs in hoping he'll do something about it (which he does) and then dies of course. In this episode Toji ends up recongizing his son and since he died, he has no idea if Gojo ended up doing something about it or what type of person Megs grew up to be. He asks his name because if it were Zenin then that means he was still sold to the clan, but if Gojo had intervened then it's possible it would still be Fushiguro, so when Megs replies, Toji says "not Zenin? I'm glad" (from the japanese translation) and knows that he wasn't sold and brought up by the same people who had rejected Toji Not a perfect 1:1 of what I remember reading but you get the gist 😂 I'm not sure if some of what's mentioned is 100% true or just implied that a fan speculated but it made the most sense to me

Kenny's face when ponytail appeared 😂😂

My theory is that it has to be his version of reversal red slicing is his main CT but his reversal of it instead of multiple precise attacks is one messy destructive blow if not then I have own other theory in the Japanese sub the English subtitles call sukunas domain expansion malevolent kitchen so maybe his CT is like a cook were after cutting your steak or shaping it you put it in the oven so it is were after cleaving jogo he was ready for the oven and his fire arrow starts

The more I look into this the more it seems entirely from fan translations that got popular on Reddit. There is nothing in the Japanese text that would indicate that Uraume is anything but female. The closest to original sources I can find for this belief are all Reddit posts that use one sentence where no pronouns at all are used, which is normal in Japanese. This seems to be another case of a character being claimed by activists based on misunderstanding or misinformation.

*toji stabs himself through the head* “aww that was kinda sweet” -Kenny

Don’t know if Gege uses neutral pronouns or avoids them completely when mentioning Uraume but it’s true, we don’t know their gender and Gege does this intentionally

Sebi

Its kinda silly how many characters Kyle Hebert plays in this show. He plays yujis male upper classman from episode 1, Yujis grandpa, the old principal from Kyoto, the zenin clan leader, His PE coach from ep1, and now Larue. Other ppl might not catch on but all i here is Gohan XD

Nigel Douglas

its kinda funny yall immediately clocked him as overhaul and i immediatly clocked him as Galliard from AOT

Nigel Douglas

Was entertaining to watch the first few seconds of this video made my day lol

Babybear47

Toji was rejected by the clan for having no cursed abilities like Maki. Imagine his surprise when his boy inherits the 10 shadows ability. He was proud to hear that despite having such a desired ability Megumi rejected the clan.

Just a reminder that the reason they used a lot of different animation or still shots this arc, was due to the studio rushing the animators. Not only were they overworked to the brink of posting cryptic/suicidal messages/images on their social media, but they were not given enough time to focus on this anime.

dannydarko27

little fun fact sukuna and tengen from demon slayer have the same dub va

What do you mean by neutral pronouns? The typical personal pronouns in Japanese that I've learned are: 私 watashi - standard / formal / first one the dictionary or language courses will teach you for "I, me" (All Might uses this 私が来た! ) 僕 boku - male submissive, normal for any male when talking with strangers, expected of younger men if not in a situation where the formality of 私 would be expected (Deku uses this) 俺 ore - male dominant, used casually with friends, rude if used with strangers or if used by kids/teenagers (Bakugo uses this) あたし atashi - standard female, shortened form of watashi (Ashido uses this) 名前ちゃん name-chan - small child girl pronoun where they use their name with chan. most girls are done with this by the time they go to school 自分 jibun - "pure self," traditionally used by soldiers and monks but common for athletes and celebrities nowadays (Shoto and Hawks use this) There are some other regional ones and I'm sure some things I don't know, but these are all the pronouns I'm aware of and none of them really translate to a neutral pronoun in the way of they/them.

This is one example where I actually dislike the English dub line. Not the acting, just that the script was a little too much. In Japanese he just says 禪院じゃないのか。or "Zen'in janai noka." meaning "It's not Zen'in?" That really is enough for the audience to understand what he means. They didn't need to do the whole "You mean your last name is not Zen'in?" I just don't like that script choice.

I believe Sukuna and Jogo are seeing literally different perspectives while speaking at the end. We're watching from Jogo's perspective during the conversation but some of the answers Sukuna gives are interesting from his own perspective. Right after the final line it cuts back from what Jogo is seeing to what Sukuna is seeing. In that final scene, Jogo asks "what am I feeling?" while tearing up and Sukuna responds "I wouldn't know the answer to that." To us looks like he is callous to the pride and sorrow that Jogo is feeling. However, I think Sukuna is looking upon the face of defeat when he says that. He's not seeing Jogo's feelings, he's seeing a loser, and he doesn't know anything about that.

Mekar

put some respect on my king Haruta 🗣️

Kuda

It seems that Sukuna has always had this technique. He expected Jogo to already be aware of it meaning that he used it in the heian era

Erin Ryan

I might be completely off base but I have my own theory about Sukuna using fire (No spoilers from people who know). Jogo has a point that Sukuna's technique is severing and slicing, and we know that Yuji is strangley quick at learning Jututsu, and never really knew his parents. What if what Sukuna did was something to do with Yuji having some kind of innate technique that he doesn't know about?

ZestyBlaze

I love how blodie is such a hatable character. Like, no redeeming qualities, just pure ragebait. I don't even know if he has a nam and I don't care to look it up.

Saiyasha

I remember watching this for the first time and also thinking i’ve never seen anything like this. the animation is so inspired. You guys are right that the way they prioritized motion over detail makes the chaos and the intensity of the fight feel so real

Addy

Toji really didn't wanna pay that child support...

Saiyasha

PEAK IS HERE!!🔥🔥

Nathaniel Depaz

Yay! My comment got read! I always like hearing people talk about Sukuna cause he’s such an interesting character once you start to look closer

Kiera Demian

Jogoat

Pancake

I hardly see anyone point out the fact that Sukuna's fire is so powerful it incinerated Jogo, the living embodiment of the fear of fire/volcanoes/meteors/etc. That's insane.

Juan Solo

The way you guessed the meteor loool

Eileen Hinman

He's glad that he's not a member of the zenin clan and yes that he kept his mom's last name also it's a rumor that gojo was just hearing and seeing sukuna in the afterlife cause it was what he wanted to hear the most in life and it wasn't the real sukuna

blue_haruki

yep,they/them cuz gege uses netrual pronouns in japanese

ivan

Funny paying attention to all the time inserts now

Justin Spencer

I love how people always forget jogo faced the two strongest people in this verse, no one looks good fighting sukuna and gojo😂

Kilonzo

Ray Chase absolutely kills it in this episode as Sukuna

wanira 11

Bwhahahahaha Y'all's absolute disarray at the end their was fabulous 🤣🤣🤣 The insanity of this season is times like this is when the animation was "suffering" due to the bullshit the artists were dealing with from their employer, yet it's still amazing anyway We always appreciate when you go plus ultra for us Kenny! Your name last night, and double drop today! Thanks for answering my question!

Jinchuriki87

I hope the next is blu ray version

Jay Red

Don't stress too much about the bluray the animation is already incredible

Erin Ryan

Urames gender is unconfirmed btw

Erin Ryan

Out of curiosity what did you guys think was gojo's other technique
