Mark is chastising himself yes, but he also took a beating from a Roided Levy after going through multiple dimensions where times moved differently in all of them and fighting whoever he ran into. Mark probably did think Angstrom was stronger than he actually was because Mark was worn out when he finally started fighting him. Combine that with all the disorientation from getting punched through dimensions and feeling exhausted Mark got pushed to a point he had never gotten to before.

It's an animated youtube series made by the same creator as Hazbin Hotel, it's set in the same world as well, but follows a completely different cast of characters. I think you'd really enjoy the complex interpersonal relationships the show sets up, as well as its exploration of trauma. Thanks for all of your great reactions! I really enjoy your guys' content!

It's a line directly from the books.

2024-08-19 15:57:12 +0000 UTCI'm glad I stuck around to the end to hear Kenny's thoughts on Eve and Mark because I was kind of stunned at your reaction to Mark holding back at the end there. But yeh Kenny is right, in Mark's head he just killed someone and acted like Nolan, broke up with Amber because their worlds couldn't mesh not because they fell out of love, and he knows another Viltrumite is coming thanks to Anissa's final words to him. Not to mention it has to feel slightly manipulative to know how deep someone's feeling are for you and therefore know you could easily take advantage of that. Mark taking a step back to figure everything out before making a decision about something so important to Eve is very noble and healthy for both of them. Also, thanks for answering my question. Glad my username gets a chuckle each time my questions get on. Can't wait for Season 3!

Well was it a conscious choice or not? He's coping with the fact he wanted to. He was justified, surely, but he doesn't want to be that, someone who wants to kill people and just does it. The Viltrumites tell themselves they're justified too.
