So while not an exact translation quirk is a translation that fits the intent of the Japanese term used even if it’s not a literal translation.

Destro was around when quirks were just starting to appear, and quirks have now been around long enough that they're commonplace now, and anyone who doesn't have one is a bit of an outlier. Only 20% of the population doesn't have a quirk.

2024-07-18 14:39:37 +0000 UTCFun manga history fact. The term quirk originally came from a fan translation of the manga before it was actually officially translated into English. I don’t remember what the original term Horikoshi used for powers, but he learned that a popular fan translation used the term quirk and liked it so it became the term in official translations.
