The word in Japanese would most literally translate to “personality” or “individuality” I believe. used in the sense of what makes someone unique. So while not an exact translation quirk is a translation that fits the intent of the Japanese term used even if it’s not a literal translation.

Please react to the OVA's for season 5 when you have the chance. They are two short fun episodes with no angst or stress. Especially with how season 6 is, you'll need a bit of a breather.

I love comparing the way the Mauler twins work with how Twice works.

I don't think Redestro is actually Destro's son, just his descendant. Destro was around when quirks were just starting to appear, and quirks have now been around long enough that they're commonplace now, and anyone who doesn't have one is a bit of an outlier. Only 20% of the population doesn't have a quirk.

From what I've heard, Viz (which publishes Shonen Jump in the west) used a different term at first, but people got upset, so they actually went back and changed it to "quirk" in the official translation.

Montana actually being happy about Twice having a breakthrough is so wholesome.

Fun manga history fact. The term quirk originally came from a fan translation of the manga before it was actually officially translated into English. I don’t remember what the original term Horikoshi used for powers, but he learned that a popular fan translation used the term quirk and liked it so it became the term in official translations.
