When she realized she could never have both, she opted for neither and hid away in a convent to pursue a spiritual life instead. When Nancy comes to offer a demonic bargain, Pearl takes the chance to demand what she always wanted. But demons do not like to be ordered around, and Pearl's reward is more curse than blessing.

Well that was an unexpected outcome. I like the idea of multiple original corruptions and that Sasha wasn't the only one to experience the demonic corruption from what lies beneath. I don't know what I was expecting with the swap to Pearl's day, but to end up with her corruption the way that it is, and I'm hoping we get more to it than where it left off, I'm left in a state of shock and awe. Awe that we're 4 corruptions in and each are very satisfying and shocked at the different ways to break the formula that seem to be coming in this story. I hope for one of the Nuns to fall soon (or next) as it would be interesting to have that old veteran of the convent falling to corruption and providing more than just the novices. It really is Sister Debra (although Kelsey could be fun after this chapter) to provide opportunities to further taint the convent. As for Pearl, I don't know why but I'd love to see her used to incubate other's in the covenant as demons. In sort of shove a less than willing novice inside her cavernous hole filling it and letting her birth newly minted corrupted nun offspring. It might be Halloween and the idea of a pregnant nun corrupting pod demon it just ringing all the right bells atm.
