In this episode, we learn that Nolan is 100s if not 1000s of years old, with his time on Earth being "a speck in the span of his life." How do you think Nolan's extreme age has affected his actions and how he views humans? Do you think it is possible for someone as old as Nolan to dramatically change their core values?

This is a pretty common rhetoric/line used by abusers to both absolve themselves and gaslight their victims, but it also presents a fascinating look into Nolan's deeper psychology when paired with the baseball flashback. Keeping in mind the fact that he didn't start his true villainous descent until Mark got his powers at the beginning of the series, why do you think he said this, specifically? And why do you think he ran away so soon after the fact, despite spending the entire fight both metaphorically and physically beating his beliefs into Mark?
