In Japanese culture, that position of putting your head in the ground is a very humiliating one, one that just the people deseperate enough use it, is not a position of humility and respect, is one of shame and no self respect, the sentiment around that position is very strong, that's why they ask him not to do it and that's why it such a big deal for All Might do that, since he is such an important icon.

2023-12-15 06:09:38 +0000 UTCSo while Bakugo didn't get his personality or most of his looks from his dad, he did get a key part of his quirk from him His dads quirk is Acid Sweat which makes the sweat from his palms have explosive properties, he can ignite it if he rubs his palms together. The issue is, he can't control the output, he just sweats like a normal person His Mom though, her Quirk is Glycerin, it allows her to produce a smooth liquid from her skin which is great for her skin Like Todoroki's parents, their quirks combined making Bakugo's super powerful quirk, but unlike Todoroki's parents, this was completely unintentional I just find it funny that while his Mom has an explosive personality, its his dad that had the explosive quirk

She has raised me to feel comfortable to "mouth of" and wanted me to be able to defend myself when I was older. My mom and I are a lot alike in being hotheaded - yeah there are things that make it worse in inheriting traits like that at times, but Bakugou is getting older now and he is a teenager and he can come to his own realizations, but I think there is a lot of love there between his family. 2023-12-14 20:52:21 +0000 UTCFor me, the Bakugo family dynamic is interesting to me because of the key point that Kachan has been super talented, even gifted, from the beginning and fawned over, as his mom says, whether he deserved it or not. If you look for real world examples, there are a lot of kids who grow up getting praise and being looked up to because of something they inherited, like wealth or good looks, and it can easily cause them to behave in a spoiled manner with others if not checked. Imagine if Bakugo's parents were like Midoriya and his mom, gentle and sweet, he would absolutely run over them and intimidate them, so I feel like his mom being like that is kind of necessary to oppose his own strength and temper, otherwise he'd just be incredibly spoiled and have no boundaries.

Not to a point that is like really bad, but just like making jokes, having fun. That’s how it’s always been in my family, and it kinda creates a sense of mutual respect, rather than fear. Your parent becomes your friend rather than an enforcer

He wanted to actually prove he's the best and try to rise above All Might on his own merit. Just being given the top spot by default is kind of demeaning like saying "oh we have no choice to but to give it to you"

2023-12-14 15:37:10 +0000 UTCRegarding All Might bowing to Deku and his mom: I think it’s based in Japanese Culture, someone of a higher “social status” shouldn’t be prostrating themselves to someone “below them” (I could be wrong, it’s just my interpretation) so him bowing down is him humbling himself before Deku’s mom. Which is why They said “All might don’t” Again just my thoughts
