2023-12-06 23:59:11 +0000 UTCFun history fact time! This entire battle/episode is likely a reference to The Battle of Dan-no-Ura which was a battle to decide who would be ruling Japan at the time. Nunally in this episode is likely a reference to the child emperor who jumped into the sea after their ship was attacked. The battle took place on the sea and Asahina's "samurai leap over floating boats" attack is referencing Minamoto Yoshitsune's legendary "eight boat leap." There is a lot of amazing art depicting it.

The garden on the ship where Nunnally is staying looks like a cage, and she is like a bird living in a gilded cage. Which means Zero is right Nunnally is just a pawn used by the Emperor. Euphemia's Special Administrative Zone project, that Nunnally is trying to put back together is a pipe dream. You can't asked for People to accept to be recognized as citizen in only a small part a of their own country. It's completely ludicrous. It's like telling American People that they would be considered as citizen of the US only in Connecticut and everywhere else in America they would be slave of the Britannian empire. It will never work, it's just foolish and preposterous.

Lelouch probably wanted to avoid the awkward conversation of why he murdered two of their half-siblings. Also one detail to remember about his sister is she blind and for some geas that is a good counter.
