I think most peoples issues with Suzaku are his BLATANT hypocrisy's and self righteous world view. At least Lelouch was only a hypocrite occasionaly and never really deviated only evolved on his world view. This is how I viewed their dynamic personally. Great foil and character but I do find S1 Suzaku a bit insufferable.

2023-11-16 05:09:08 +0000 UTCLelouch was mad that Suzaku was acting just like him. Adopting Lelouchs "Ends justify the means" by selling out his "friend"

2023-11-13 17:01:00 +0000 UTCOne thing that always bugged me is how so many fans would torch Suzaku for being naive/idealistic and kind in the first season and then dogged on him in season 2 for being cold and focusing on gaining rank and power over siding with lelouch. As if that wasn't lelouch through the whole first season💀

2023-11-13 16:58:58 +0000 UTCIt also works similarly to turn based strategy games in theory. For example: R1 = round 1 and R2= round 2 So Round 2, turn 2.

2023-11-13 15:42:27 +0000 UTCI always thought it was supposed to be R2 "rebellion 2" because the first rebellion technically failed. That was my guess anyway.

2023-11-10 03:27:42 +0000 UTCI don't know for certain, but I think R1 = Round 1, and R2 = Round 2 some games will do that, and in turn based games as well. So Round 2, Turn 2. That's what I think when I hear these things. XD

2023-11-09 15:08:48 +0000 UTCSuzaku has been possessed! By institutional capture! The political science term for the phenomenon of idealistic people becoming becoming gradually subsumed by institutional norms and culture of whatever organization they become a part of. In this case, Suzaku’s moral and critical reasoning took a major hit as soon as he performed the ideological gymnastics necessitated by becoming a soldier of an imperialist colonial power that decimated his home and killed his people. In his defense, psychological studies of other fascist collaborators throughout history have all found that they experienced high degrees of individual personalization of the enemy; they formed friendly relationships with some of their occupiers. For Suzaku, that was his relationship with Lloyd, Cecile, Euphemia, etc. He got to know good people “within” the machine and that allowed him to gradually be drawn deeper and deeper into it.

2023-11-09 08:17:39 +0000 UTCGuys I know this is unrelated but when you watch the new AOT movie make sure you're in a mentally good place I'm a pretty mentally strong person and I've been in a pit of depression since I watched it and it's very hard to get rid of this feeling that comes up from the pit of your stomach.

2023-11-08 20:33:03 +0000 UTCUm... I'm going to be straight up and say you're extremely off base with the talk about multiple geasses. First of all they all do different things and you already know from Mao that being geassed doesn't stop you from a different geass being used on you

2023-11-08 19:00:03 +0000 UTCSuzaku is, in a way, possessed. The hatred within his heart, I think, was clear in the season finale. Lied to and seemingly betrayed by his best friend via the murder of the only woman he ever loved, Suzaku was willing to erase Lelouch from the world. Despite knowing how much Lelouch had been betrayed by his family and how much Lelouch loved Nunally, his hatred for Zero was enough that he would kill or betray Lelouch as well if it meant he could have revenge for Euphemia. The ideals and the people he fights for have been eroded or destroyed by Lelouch and his Geass, so isn't it only right he do the same in kind?
