Though the confession scene is very cute it's also interesting to analyze. Even though it's played for laughs Euphemia ORDERS Suzaku to love her which I think showcases her childness and obliviousness to how harmful her power over people like Suzaku is in the system they both defend, she wishes to reform it but she also plays around being tickled by her sister, who does things like order a massacre to draw out Zero. When Suzaku was reciprocating he only comments on things Euphy did to further his influence on the system and never says "I love you" to her, illuminating the single mindedness he has towards his goal. Suzaku hates Zero for thinking the ends justify the means but, by protecting Britannia, aren't the countless deaths the Empire causes partially his fault, aren't those deaths a means to HIS ends? Regardless of all that Suzaku and Euphemia would be very healthy and happy in a better world, do you believe they'll be able to overcome the barriers of the world they live in to be together?

They're set up as character foils since the very beginning, and both of their skillsets combined would make them pretty unstoppable. Do you think the show has them opposing each other on purpose to make it more dramatic, or to serve a symbolic idealist vs realist route sort of thing, or both?
