As someone who both masks probably far better than I should, and who does often take on the responsible, reliable partner, this episode always kills me, 4 times I've seen this and everytime I cry. The one two punch of Luz and Willow being picked up and understood by those around them is just *mwah*

Like, I fully did not register that was a thing during my first view. Saw people talking about it after the series was over and was like" Oh that's cute but it kinda came out of nowhere." Uh... nope turns out I was wrong about that. Fully thought they were just good friends lol.

I don't see this brought up a lot but I love that Luz, taking in life lessons from her own childhood, literally did not force a shape onto her palisman, but instead carved an egg so that the palisman could have agency to become what it would be and she would love it no matter what it ended up being. Such a cute and wholesome approach to caring for someone/something. I love that Camilla is on this journey as well. So few kids adventure media incorporates the parents being along and supporting them rather than taking over or saying they know best. Also love that Luz canonically has two moms now (once Eda and Camilla manage to meet each other) in two different realms.

2023-07-10 21:15:46 +0000 UTCOk so many thoughts: -first off Montana I have only ridden a horse like once in my life and I got your analogy so it works! -the place where they came out is where Eda 1st found the door! -Belos just needs bones to hold together the goo that’s what he did w/ all the animals in the human realm too! -small dig at disney blink and you’ll miss it thing: Kikimora Aka “Mickey” has “NO ORIGINAL IDEAS OF HER OWN” -I like that you guys were team bird for the palisman, all the guesses at the end were things the fandom guessed! (Team snake here, there was SO MUCH FORESHADOWING) -we thought the puppets couldn’t feel anything, but as Hooty showed us they are aware in there and that’s AWFUL -both luz and camila said the exact same thing when seeing King for the first time and that’s beautiful -last one: yes it is devastating abt Raine, but at least Belos gave them a good hairdo? 😅

The Owl House was clearly inspired by LWA and the anime is incredibly wholesome so it would make for a great pallet cleanser amid some of the more dark and serious stuff you watch.
