Updates and Patreon Announcement Animatic!

Dear Patreons,

I hope you're all doing well! It's the season of new beginnings; the new school year has started, projects are on the rise and beautiful Autumn is right around the corner!

Admittedly I have been off to a bumpy start, with a bad cold latching onto me at the very first day of school, resulting in me being down with a bad fever for a good bunch of days. And when I was finally able to pick up a pen again there's been computer trouble, basically stemming from my hard drive running out of space.

I've been saving up for a NAS-drive for a while now, and this here weekend things got to the point where I finally went out and made the purchase. Now I've got a cloud with 4 TB to work from, so that's helping a good bunch. Anyways, enough about technicalities - All in all I'm a lot better now, and so is my computer!

Once those technical issues were fixed I was finally able to finish up my Patreon announcement video, which I guess you might have seen.

Now it's nothing to write home about, but just to give you a little something that you won't see anywhere else, here's the "animatic" for the announcement video. This one serves to show how simple it can be done sometimes. While I enjoy going in front of the camera once in a while as much as the next guy I thought I'd be able to represent myself best through an animation for this purpose. But at the same time it had to be kept simple - wouldn't make sense to spend months on a Patreon announcement video, when you're really in it to spend your time on more ambitious projects, now would it? So basically this quick storyboard/animatic served its purpose to give me a feel for the setup of the video and to give me some poses to animate directly from.

Apropos animatics; a while back I asked on Twitter what you all would prefer to see of behind the scenes material from Tales of Zale. Since the majority answered animatics, there'll be some of those coming up in the near future! These should be an interesting look at the process that went on to create the previous Tales of Zale episodes - I'm looking forward to sharing them with you all!
