SoVR Post-Game Diary #9

Hello everyone,

I'm making a post a bit earlier than planned because it's not only about showing you new stuff, but also giving you some other kind of information as well.

The first thing I want you to know is that it's been 3 weeks since SubscribeStar disabled the possibility to transfer the money to Skrill (which is a Paypal-like site). I tend to transfer the money on a not regular basis to save on the fees. So I usually do it every 2,5/3 months. But here since I can't do that, the money is stuck on SS. Bank transfer is a problem to me because it means I have to declare even the money that isn't mine (meaning the money used to pay the members of the team) so I'd lose 25% of that amount if I was to do a bank transfer. I'd rather avoid that. For now, thankfully, I can still pay them because I was saving money on my Skrill account in prevision of paying the Japanese translation of Slice of Venture Remake in the future. But if things remains like that for several more weeks, there might come a moment where things are a bit tricky. Don't worry, I'll be able to pay them no matter what, it's just that it could either slow down the process or reduce the amount of commissions during a certain period of time. If it goes to such extent, I'll warn you.

The second thing I wanted to tell you is about the release of the next update. I tend to not give a proper date of release anymore because it's hard to give a good estimate. Now, I won't hide that I can't really afford to wait too long since patrons have been leaking ever since July and the release of the previous version. That's why I wanted to release v0.3 at the end of October. But yesterday, something family-related happened and unfortunately for me, I won't be available at the worst dates possible (between October 28th and November 1st.) For different reasons, that means there's a high chance that the v0.3 will be released AT LEAST on the weekend of November 2-3 but if testing sessions are problematic (there are many new things), this can lead me to the weekend after that (November 9-10). I apologize for the trouble. I'd like to say "we'll do everything to release it before October 28th" but it's just completely unrealistic. When I see the amount of art left to do, I already know it's not feasible.

Anyway, now let's move on to SoVR...

I mentionned it last week, today's is the day of maps!

While not very exciting in themselves, at least these maps will give you an idea of what to expect in the next update. I'll start with a small change on an already existing map: the train station.

It's not easy to see but there are now public toilets on the north exit. I needed them for a specific purpose and it was easier to tweak an already existing map than to create a new one just to implement public toilets.

Next is a map you already know, the appartment one:

I like how it looks. it's tricky to make something big and not completely empty. Now, in terms of new area, Yuki will have the possibility to visit a new farm: The Kuroiwa farm.

That's one of my little pleasure. Do you remember back in the days where you had to choose between different farms to select the guilty one? Well you'll have the occasion to visit them with the different girls. For Yuki, it'll be the Kuroiwa farm. While it contains the two old farmers running the farm as told in the main story, there are also a man and a woman working there to help them.

And the last area I wanted to show you for that update is the hideout.

This is the biggest new area of this update. It's a place in the moutain filled with not very recommandable people and homeless people. The big building on the left is an abadonned factory.

It has a 2 floors + a basement. It's occupied by a group of thugs who are doing a shady business in which Yuki might actually help. But I won't tell more :p

While there are maps for all the buildings in the hideout, I'm just showing a few of them.

Of course there HAS to be abandonned toilets...

One of the house serves as a porn film shooting spot. People in there are not necessarily mean or evil. But since they sell their stuff uncensored in Japan, they have to remain hidden.

There are more maps that are ready (notably every interior in the hideout is ready, but not everything planned there will be available for the next update) but I think I've shown enough content. Between these new places and the ones from the main story you can come back to (Farrier's place, Grandparents home, Junkyard etc...), I think there's way enough places to have fun.
