The Hunter 2 v0.21 Log #5

Hello everyone!

Today's log is going to be a talk about the changes we are working on for the brothel with Hime, as well as an explanation of what it implies.

I won't beat around the bush: those changes aren't really small. There are two major factors that explains that: 1) I hadn't worked on TH2 for a year so my eye was more than fresh on the global look of things and 2) Vitamin Quest 2 came out.

VQ2 really made me reconsider a lot of things. And I decided to make those changes based on what I found enjoyable in VQ2 (and what I didn't.) I'm not blatantly ripping the whole thing, of course, there are many things that aren't even possible due to the difference of context between TH2 and VQ2. But when things look more logical, then yeah, I take the inspiration. Here's a basic example: if I'm asking you to choose a girl based on the customer preferences, it doesn't work with the next customers. Back then I was like "yeah it's too bad but I can't have a girl with a single custommer for the night." Well VQ2 showed me that it can work and it's not really a problem. As such, that's one of the things we'll be changing.

But there are other things that will change. I'll make a detailed post about it for the next update. Cause yes, there are so many changes that it's impossible to implement them for this release (unless we add one extra month of development :x) I've written a full 15-page documentation for Hime about all the changes and future plans for the brothel. It's heavy, but I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy those changes.

The brothel was bound to evolve through the game development and we rather have those changes as soon as possible considering what they imply instead of making them too late.

It means that the next version of TH2 will be a bit "clonky" on that side. Considering the writing and the pics are done, the next two hirable girls will have their quest implemented in the game and will be hired in the brothel at the end of their quests. I'll have the data saved in your save files. However, considering the major changes coming to the brothel, they won't be selectable in the mini-game itself, because let's be honest, I don't feel like giving myself extra work, especially when it's meant to be erased in the next update. So I'm not going to prepare all the files for those two girls to be usable in the brothel. Because I'll have to create brand new data files when the modifications will be implemented (yeah the modifications are big enough that we'll have to rewrite the data file of each girl.) I apologize for the trouble it will bring, but hopefully, it'll look much better once everything's over :)
