Happy New Year! Let's hope 2022 will be better than 2021 (it's not going to be hard :x)
At least, on my side, it's starting well as Slice of School seems to be well received (both in terms of bringing new patrons and in terms of satisfaction (I had a huge majority of positive feedback (close to 100%), which is, and it pains me a bit to say it, much more than SoV3 back in the days :x)
For Extra Lessons, well... I don't know. It's as if I didn't post anything. Not a single word popped out about it. So... if at least someone could reassure me and tell me the game is actually downloadable that would be nice cause I'm starting to doubt my own sanity here :x
Anyway, this small post is just here to trace the outline of what 2022 should look like so you can have an idea of what to expect.
2022 is going to be a VERY paradoxical year. Because it's the first year since I finished SoV2 that I'm FINALLY settling down with my old pace of two projects at a time switching back and forth. And just thinking about it kinda eases my heart as it was a pace I was enjoying a lot during the SoV2/TH years. So things are going to be smooth on that side: After an SoS update, you'll get a TH2 update and after a TH2 update, you'll get an SoS update.
BUT. Cause yeah, there's a but (without a second "t" unfortunately 8D). At the same time, this is theoretically my last year of collaboration with PeakJump. I've already mentionned that a lot of times but there are different reasons leading to him being unable to keep working with me forever. That being said, it's not completely impossible for us to keep working together after 2022 but as always, money will play a part. So if I want to take a shortcut: the success of Slice of School can change things about the future (or not, that's the trick, money isn't the ONLY thing that weighs in the scale ^^'). On that regard, though, if we manage to keep progressing at a regular rate for Slice of School like we did for the last month, I'm very positive for the future. Especially considering we're working on making a (Machine-translated) Japanese version that should help interesting more Japanese players.
I'd like to remind people that since 2020 I'm not working on a "monthly release" pace. I prefer having a checklist of elements to implement and release a new version when it's ready rather than having to ditch stuff or delay them for another update everytime (which happened at EVERY update for SoV2).
What about SoS ?
For now, we're halfway through in terms of art. On my side, I'm a bit late because of Extra Lessons, but nothing I can't catch up to. We still have scripts and stuff to implement because the main game mechanic will appear in the v0.1 but once all that will be implemented, the majority of the "pre-work" will be finished and future updates will mainly be adding story and H scenes. January being THE month where I have less working days available (because like 80% of my family is born in January), I'd say you can expect v0.1 to pop between the third and fourth week of January.
What about The Hunter 2 ?
Well, I'll go back to The Hunter 2 as soon as SoS v0.1 is released. And there's A LOT to do on that front too. We have to improve a lot of things in the brothel (something that will probably last for a long time in the development), and I have so many possibilities in mind for the scenario and side quests that I'll probably have to make a selection if I don't want the update to take 3 months ^^' So don't worry, even if most of you are here for SoS, I don't plan on dropping TH2. The two projects will now have a balanced amount of release per year :)
