Ruby's Rework

After Akane, here comes the second collateral damage of the transfer between Genesis 2 and Genesis 3. Due to her UV set (meaning the set of textures used and how they're merged together), it was impossible to import Ruby's original skin in this new version. However, unlike Akane, there was a good side to it, but I have to explain things a bit. You see, in characters in Daz are basically in two categories: Those created by Daz and those created by third-party creators. The majority of my characters are based on those third-party creators. Usually, those character are available for a single generation (even if since Genesis 8 came out (yeah it's the generation after Genesis 3, don't bother to understand x)) a lot of third-party models are available on both generation). It means that everything I had for The Hunter didn't have a Genesis 3 version (since they were genesis 2 versions). BUT when it comes to models created by Daz themselves, things are a bit different. Those models tend to take a particular name and through the new improvement between the different generation, Daz REDO those models. The most famous one being Victoria who's been around for more than 15 years and so when a new generation comes out, you have a new Victoria model. As such, with Genesis 2, they created a sort of "base black female character" called Monique. And it happens that for Ruby, I had used Monique's body and skin. But since it's a Daz creation, when they moved on to Genesis 3, they remade a new Monique model/skin compatible G3. I kept my G2 morphs to make sure Ruby was as close as possible to her original look, but skin-wise, I used that G3 Monique skin. So while different, it's definitely the closest I could get with having to change the skin (unlike Akane where I had to scout all my skins to search for something close enough.) That's for the little story. Now about Ruby herself. There's a single element I slightly reduce in her body and it's the size of her boobs. You have NO IDEA the amount of clothes that will look weird and simply won't work with characters having oversized boobs. So I reduced them a bit (not much though). Next I changed her hair. I had nothing against her original braided hair but I wanted to change them just like I do with a good part of the cast. I went for that haircut that I personally love and also changed the color because Alejandra and Cristina need to work :p Other than that, I like the fact that Ruby's quite natural (she doesn't wear make-up for instance) so I kept that side of her. Clothes-wise I had to think a bit. In TH, she was wearing her clothes just because I wanted her to look like a girl having no problem doing random naughty things. While wanting to avoid that kind of thinking for TH2, I realized that considering her job, it wasn't THAT out of place (I remind you that she works as a farmer with Liv) So I decided to search for something that would 1) Be not too far to her original look 2) Would be credible for someone working in a farm 3) Would look sexy without looking slutty. And I ended up with that look. The bra-only top to be able to move freely and not being too hot while doing manual work (I tend to picture Ruby as the one of the pair doing the heaviest tasks since Liv looks really frail), the loose pants to also move freely without having a near-the-pussy short that would make her oversexualized, and the pair of sandals because I found it worked much more with the rest of the outfit than any other possible kind of shoes. Oh, and the sunglasses aren't innocent either. Gotta protect your eyes from the sun when working outside. She's probably the only character to whom I could give sunglasses without it looking out of place. So I took the chance :p (Even if chances are high her sprite won't have them ^^') And that's all for Ruby. I'm really speeding things up. It happens that I managed to finish quite the amount of girls (as well as 4 inhabitants of Ambriosa) so I'm in a "let's finish them all" mood so I can move to coding stuff on MV peacefully.
