The Hunter 2 Official development has started!

As promised, here's the long-awaited post that assess I am indeed starting to work 100% on The Hunter 2 :)
First of all, you're probably interested to know where is The Hunter 2 going? Am I going to do something close to the first game? What's going to be different? Will Kaya reconvert as a shoemaker because she found it fascinating? I can't answer everything but I'll try to list as many elements as possible about what I'm sure of. I'll write stuff in order from what I deem from the less important to the most important (to create some suspens :p)
1) It might sound obvious but I'd rather mention it: Kaya will STILL be the heroine of The Hunter 2. And she'll be even more than in the first game as you'll play with her for the whole game. There is no plan to switch character at all during the game development. Having a steady solo main character allows a lot of things otherwise more tricky to implement.
2) The WHOLE cast of The Hunter will be back. I don't plan on ditching any woman from the first game (except Mingyu, cause I haven't planned to implement necromancy in the game :x) With the last-minute inhabitants, the village is full and no new girl will get to live in the village during the development. There are already 33 women + a boy to deal with, that's way enough.
3) Sex Battles will be back! Even though I'd rather spill the beans now: It WON'T be in the first update but only in the second one (there are many base things we need to deal with first and if I don't want the 1st update to take 5 months to develop, I have to cut it at the right moment.) In the first game it was kind of gimmick I started with and make it evolve a bit randomly due to not having a clear view of what I wanted. This is totally different now. I already know how many creatures there will be, how many skills Kaya will have, what kinds of statistics she'll use for battles etc... But like many other elements in the game, it will be tailored to feel much more professional ;) Oh, and by the way: No game-over rape this time. You'll understand in a near future why :x
4) The game will change of tone. I wanted to try something a bit "dark" with The Hunter. I think I didn't manage to do as well as I wanted (even if I find the ending much better than the prologue the game used to have.) So I'm changing to something much more light (closer to what you're used to in Slice of Venture). It might create a gap with The Hunter, but that's what I want to do right now. And from what I read here and there, I believe it's something most people will prefer ^^'
5) The game will be in HD! This is something I want to do for both The Hunter 2 and SoV3: The game will be running on a 1920*1080 resolution and the pics will also be at that resolution. This way, if you go full screen while having a bigger screen, it should still be plainly playable, and people with a smaller screen can resize it manually without problems.
6) The game will be REALLY tailored. What do I mean by that? Well, hopefully, we're working towards making TH2 a game that doesn't look like an RPG Maker game. Even if, of course, the whole square system and pixel elements are hard to avoid, we plan on customizing as much elements as possible to make it good-looking (Adding new menus, changing their design, having difficulty settings, customizing the dialogue boxes, implementing custom features etc...)
7) I. AM. NOT. RESTRAINING. MYSELF. FETISH-WISE. Most of you voted for me to come here. I now am on Fanbox. The land of freedom. Which means that I'll add whatever I want in The Hunter 2. Even if it'll be more planned than in the first game, I can add anything. It is something I'm being reproached about The Hunter but it's the core of the game. I'm already more or less restraining myself on the SoV series, so I want The Hunter 2 to be that experimentation ground the first game already was. And with the fetish selector that will be available right from the start, people will be able to have their own personal experience without being bothered by fetishes they dislike. That being said, I also do want the game to keep having that huge gap between vanilla as fuck scenes and utterly depraved and twisted scenes.
8) The village will not be the only central place of the game. This is probably one of the biggest reveal about The Hunter 2: Throughout the game you'll unlock the possibility to visit different blocks of it, but the famous city of Ambriosa (which was already mentioned in the first game) will open a whole town to the player. I let you imagine all the different possibilities a real town could offer in terms of side stories and naughty stuff ;)
9) The clothes customization will change. Unlike the first game that let you decide which clothes to wear in a single set, TH2 will lean towards changing the whole sets only. It's a personal decision based on two main reasons: 1) Creating scenes with all the possible clothes combination possible is more than a pain in the ass (whereas having a pic with only clothes to change will be much easier to handle) 2) Thanks to Hime's improvement over MV, it SHOULD be possible (it's not totally sure yet, we'll have to make tests first but it sounds promising) that those clothes variations are ALSO implemented during battles (hence having those variations on battle pics). Of course that means that there won't be TONS of clothes set. But to compensate, the game will propose situational clothes like it was already the case in the first game (I find it to be a good compromise.)
10) I shouldn't tease that already but I realize that most of the things I said here have already been mentionned in the past (except the last points.) Keep your horses down as it won't be available in the first update but only in the second one. But Hime and I are actually working on something so big that you can litterally call it a game inside the game. This is something so BIG that it will be the central element of this new game. I can't say more for now but this is definitely the most ambitious thing I've ever requested coding-wise (it's actually so big that I pondered about making it a side stand-alone game.) But in the end, it'll be a huge piece of The Hunter 2. And it's not some glitter dust that COULD happen. I've already written the whole game document, Hime has already started coding it and I made a good part of the game revolve around it. So it WILL happen :)
That's all for now, everyone. If I didn't show any pic, I did it on purpose. I keep screens and stuff like that for the development time so you can have something to see while waiting other than just girl's reworks :p
One last question that probably burns your lips is "When will the first version of The Hunter 2 be out?" I can't answer for sure. As you know, I decided to drop the monthly releases. And anyway making a game from scratch, even though I did work on it on my free time since November, requires much more time than an update of it. I'D LIKE to finish everything for the end of March. I estimate that 2 months, with the pre-works I managed to fit in, should be enough. Might need more, might need less. I'd LOVE needing less cause that means I could tackle the next things faster (which are going to be the two last updates of Naomi's Past and then the first version of SoV3). Which would mean that by summer, I reach a more regular pace alternating between SoV3 and TH2 through the year (with a little exception for SoVO cause I also have to finish that one :p)
Lastly, I'd like to mention that PeakJump and I will start duo-streaming on a regular basis (not on "fixed days", more like "at least once per week"). While he'll work on SoV3, I'll work on TH2 so you'll be able to check both works at once right here: https://picarto.tv/ArkThompson (don't hesitate to sub to either of our channels to get a notification when any of us start streaming.)
Now, that's REALLY all for now. I'll see you in a few days as from now on, I'll post here more regularly during the development time of The Hunter 2!
See ya o/
