Akane's Rework

Akane sure changed a lot, eh? It's logical. After what happened with the Free Folks, she second-guessed herself a lot and decided to join Svetlana in the village's defense rather than keep being a hunter. After all, Kaya makes an excellent hunter on her own, the village doesn't really need two of them. Design-wise, there was something I wanted to do before I even considered splitting the game in two and it was leaving a "proof" of the Free Folks story after it was finished. Kaya couldn't be the victim, she was too important, but Akane came naturally to my mind. Losing an eye was both important enough and not that terrible. She didn't lose a limb, but she didn't have a small scar either. Actually, now that I see her with that eyepatch, I feel like it was a good idea. She looks way more badass like that. I couldn't know it when I created her original design in the previous game, but Akane is supposed to make people feel she shouldn't be messed with if she gets angry. But her design was too "nice". Even when she looked angry, she simply looked like an angry mother, she didn't look threatening at all. Here, it's basically the contrary, she looks threatening even without being angry. Don't worry, though, she won't be a copy of Svetlana. She'll always smile and act like she used to. She just changed her priorities. Akane is (for now) the only woman I ended up with a BIG problem: her original skin couldn't be imported. For some reason, while it worked with other girls (even Kaya, who's skin texture use an older layout than Akane's), I couldn't for the life of me import Akane's original skin. So I had to take a new one. I tried to stay close to the original, but I have far less choices in G3 girls than I had in G2. So I went for this one. It's not as "yellow" as the original one (that's not a bad thing, though, it makes her skin more realistic) but it's not too far from it either. For the hair, I had to find something that was close enough in term of cut and color but which wasn't the same one. Even though it looks like rust with the orange being less bright (I couldn't make it brighter), the result is rather nice. Her hair a slightly longer, a bit more realistic (both in term of look and color) and I like that brand going over her eye. Originally, she wasn't supposed to have an eyepatch. She was supposed to hide her eye with her hair only. But the result wasn't satisfying enough (it's hard to have hair packed like that without it looking weird), so I added the eyepatch. Now she still has the hair falling but they can do it more naturally since I'm not forced to hide her eye anymore. Finally, clothes-wise, you might see some similarities with Svetlana's old outfit and you'd be right. I didn't do it on purpose, but the top is actually the same kind than Svetlana's. I wanted her overall outfit to reflect her decision to look more threatening. Black was the way to go. Since her breasts aren't as crazy as Svetlana's the top wors better too. She holds a revolver too. With what happened with Halcyon, it's the last she can do. That's all for this post.
