Burnout

Hey everyone,

So... I haven't drawn a comic in a while. I thought it would just be the one week that I take off, but now that it's been a couple I figure I should at least talk about it.

After finishing the last comic my mind hit a solid mental wall and I felt completely burnt out. Later, reading through the symptoms and warning signs of burnout (and checking off nearly every point), I guess it was only a matter of time.

The first week I pretty much did nothing at all. A lot of sitting and staring. Or lying down and staring. Thinking about comics/brainstorming made me nauseous.

I'm trying out different methods to get over this hurdle, and I think I'm slowly getting bored with not doing anything, which seems like a good sign..?

Thank you everyone for your patience (and for all the kind messages) while I figure all this out. In the meantime I'd like to at least draw you a couple bonus panels I've previously already had ideas for, and also continue to stream on Twitch from time to time (even if it isn't necessarily streaming comics).

Hope to see you on the other side soon.

Gregor

Aye, several comic writers takes regular vacations. Everyone needs time off. Take the time you need

I think the word you're looking for is "vacation." Take one! And I'd suggest a full vacation, not a partial one with bonus panels. It's amazing the difference between "I'll try to get a little done" and "I'm on vacation, I'm doing nothing!" for mental health.
