Happy Monday, Patrons!
This week, we wanted to showcase a change we made a while back to provide more information at a glance to players while they are running around the map. A few weeks ago, we showed you the design of our new TAB menu, including a full-size minimap for your reference. However, we felt that wasn't enough for players, so we've also decided to change our main player HUD.
In the above images, you can see that you will now have all three lanes present on your HUD at all times, with a main lane selected. This will allow you to generally see the lane you are in clearly at all times, but also allow you to see the general standing in other lanes as well (tower health, enemy/ally myth locations, wyverns, etc). You can still transition through the lanes like before with the mouse scroll wheel, or the 3, 4, and 5 buttons on your keyboard (though these keybinds may change). In addition to being able to change the minimap manually, it also will update automatically when you enter a new lane. For instance, if you drop from Fire Lane to Void Lane, the map will sense your new position and automatically make Void Lane the largest of the three. The same goes for traveling to any other lane as well!
While this feature is still in testing, we believe it holds merit and some variation of it will be used going forward. As the year comes to a close, we are immensely appreciative of all our patrons and can't wait to show you some updated gameplay in the new year!
What are your thoughts on the new minimap layout?
See you soon,
