Hey guys, just wanted to say hey to all the new faces coming in over the last while, as well as all my OG's out there (Digi, Mike the Media Dragon, Lucas Staniland, Judgement Day, etc., I'm looking at YA'LL), and, fuck it, everyone in the middle too.
As you guys will know if you've seen the latest video on BGE, my schoolin' is finally over. It may seem odd that I was even still IN school , and even more so the fact that now that I have my degree my goal is to LEAVE my job, but long story short getting that degree was sort of a component of the job I currently have and an obligation toward my family (and, I suppose, a sort of insurance policy in case all other plans were to fall through). Now that that's finished, however, my goal is to aggressively persue being able to make content full-time. This is possibly by reaching the monetary goals outlined on this page, with $750/video as the target number.
I'm gonna break down the details of this goal a bit, but if you don't give a fuck, np m8, peace. If people wanna know why I've set this goal, however, I'd like to drop some of that KNAAAWLEDGE.
It all just boils down to hard math. The goal is to be able to live entirely on money earned from Patreon and YouTube (although the latter ain't much to write home about) and maybe merch sales at some point, who the fuck knows. Right now, making roughly $300 a post and posting about twice a month (remember, Patreon earnings drop off sharply the more posts you make in a month), it's not enough to live on, certainly not considering the lovely student debt I'm paying off. ;) These aren't your problems, obviously, but since the goal here is to make enough to offset the costs, you should understand the equation. I won't get too into numbers here for privacy reasons you nosy FUCKS, but I believe earning around $750 per post would make for a livable wage. If you've seen the level of care I put into my BGE projects, Best Anime Ever, the Final Fantasy vieos, etc., just on man hours alone, not to mention the pure artistic GENIUS, I think you'll agree its worth pledging a dollar or two. Hell, I don't need to convince you, you already pledged, haven't you? GOTCHA, BITCH! XD
Also, as many of you probably know, The Pro Crastinators are a major element in this equation. Somewhere in the 2017 year, most likely, a move out to join them is in the cards assuming I make enough to afford it. Also, Radcon 2 is coming up in a month and I have no doubt will be another collaboration of pure GENIUS, but all of us want to be able to work together whenever we want, not just every few months, not to mention all the projects we want to make that requires the others to be nearby. We have big plans here, so really you can think of a pledge to me as pledging to the TPC cause as well (it WAS my idea after all ;] ). This is the future, people. Keep your eyes on the stars.
And those are my plans. Clearly you support what I do here on the web-zone or else you wouldn't be reading this, and I hope this has given you a glimpse into the direction I see things going. And FURTHERMORE, I hope it has given you an incentive to help me make these goals a reality. Feel free to contact me here, as always, with any questions or concers and I will answer in an expedient fashion (probably).
Thanks again, everybody. It's crazy man, even reaching this point is more that I would have thought possible 3 years ago when Ben and I decided to make a video about My Little Pony on a whim. A few days of googling "HOW 2 MAKE YOUTUBE VIDEOS" and banging my head against Windows Movie Maker later, we had one, and now a couple years later I'm making plans to be a professional artist with the most talented people in the game, and I couldnt be happier about it.
SURE AM GLAD I GOT THAT DEGREE . 😂 🔫
