This month’s winner is a pair of monster the lolo gougarf and the ray gougarf from Monster Hunter Frontier! These monsters are CR 11 and work as a pair providing a nice change of pace to the standard solo boss fights we see in a monster hunter style game. They also have a ton of mobility and battlefield control in their toolkit, which will allow them to extend the duration of the battle, providing an even greater challenge.
These monsters were tough to build, not as a single creature, but as a pair. They are simliar but trying to incorporate their coop moves into the stat block took me a bit of time to figure out how to do. Overall those I think I did a good job and I hope you all enjoy using them against your players. In the .Zip attached, you will find a PDF for the Lolo Gougarf & Ray Gougarf and a token used for online play. Within the PDF you will find its stat block and loot table that is usable with the rule set found within Amellwind's Guide to Monster Hunting located in the description of this Patreon page.
For my FoundryVTT Patrons, I am preparing a large update for tomorrow so long as I get the finishing touches. In that post we should see a new manifest URL for the Full FoundryVTT module and one for Lolo & Ray Gougarf + the Gore from last month. Please keep an eye out for that post to grab those monsters for foundry then.
Keeping with the trend of higher CR ranges for the monster hunts, this months hunt vote was for the CR 11-14 range and because both Lolo & Ray Gougarf are CR 11 creatures, it made perfect sense to me to make the hunter about them this month. Not only is it not a solo boss fight like I mentioned a bit in the paragraphs above, but I think it will provide a new challenge for your players.
So in this hunt a group of 13th level hunters head out to the Verdant Hills hunting grounds to take on the two gougarfs that have claimed a section of it. The hunt itself doesn't take itself too seriously but it also isn't like some of the joke hunts we've had in the past. In the .pdf attachment below, you will find the hunt with a link to the verdant hills map.
As always thank you for the support and I hope you enjoy playing in, or running this hunt; or using the newest monster added to Monster Hunter 5e!
