Hi Everyone,
I worked on this earlier in the month, but one of the biggest challenges to PF2e is going to be the loot tables. The item/crafting system in PF2e is extremely intricate but breaks down to invested items, runes, talismans, and a couple others I can't think of off the top of my head.
I have a few thoughts and I don't know how I feel about them just yet, but I think this is worth you all taking a look at and it is usable as it is right now.
The biggest issue with doing it this way, is the fact that the party will end up with an abundance of materials and how do I figure out the math on what each material should be worth? How am I going to know how many materials a party gets per level? The answer would be to run an entire pf2e campaign, but that will take years to do.
So do I make it so materials have no value and cut out gold normally reserved for equipment from the standard gold per level setup PF2e has? I think this might be the best way.
I could also revamp the system a bit more with the thought of doing it like 5e, where invested materials are slotted into armor and weapons and those can't be sold, but materials they just are holding on to could be. I like this idea the best, because I want the PC to have multiple armor sets to swap between, and not keep the same invested items every time. Which provides uses for having multiple of the same materials (to put in different armor/weapon sets).
I have time for these ideas to be built on and fleshed out more, or even completely changed. I would like to know your thoughts on the idea and next month I plan on working on another feat set for another MH weapon.
