Upcoming Changes: Switch to Subscription Billing & Apple App Store 30% Fee Requirement
Added 2024-08-31 10:00:07 +0000 UTCIn preparation for Appleโs upcoming requirement for all iOS transactions to use their in-app purchase system starting this November, we will be switching to subscription billing and adjusting prices for iOS purchases. This move helps us maintain revenue and avoid potential losses due to Appleโs 30% fee.
For patrons who prefer to avoid this change, we recommend managing your subscription via Android, mobile browser, or desktop. If you leave and return after November 2024 through the iOS app, the price increase will apply. This change DOES NOT affect current members, only new and returning members.

PS: To clarify, the pricing and fee changes will only apply to new subscribers or those who re-subscribe after canceling, starting in November 2024. If you're an existing subscriber and keep your subscription active, nothing will change for you!

The Apple fee mainly applies to purchases made inside apps from the App Store. If you pause your subscription and return later, you won't be charged the Apple fee as long as you keep using PayPal on the Patreon website instead of the Patreon app on an Apple device. Everyone is still free to use the Patreon app to have access to our content, we simply are informing all paying members to manage their subscriptions on Android, mobile browser, or desktop browser.
