Love how much Xena and Caesar get under eachother's skin. It always just that extra bit more personal.

2024-11-23 04:36:24 +0000 UTC‘A Good Day’ is another Roman-heavy episode that puts Gabrielle front and center, yet again, and she faces even more dire straights situations where, yet again, somebody will die from it. They seem to love doing that with Gabrielle. I wonder if it’s leading to something significant for her. Temecula is a cool character. Steven L. Sears included him in the episode because he wanted to do a mirroring of Xena and Gabrielle’s dynamic from the first season where Gabrielle was so excited about becoming a warrior and curious as what would it would be like to face an opponent with a weapon. Of course, with all the experience she’s had with violence and war and all the trauma she’s accumulated because of it, she’s now the one saying to this young boy what Xena once said to her because she knew he wouldn’t truly be able to understand what it’s like to kill - to take life away and the impact of that irreversible choice and action that now Gabrielle knows all too well. And then of course… it happens. At this point in the show the weight must be immense and they seem to just keep piling on the dead bodies she’s responsible for. There’s really only one choice to make to avoid this going forward but the question is whether it’s the right one or not for Gabrielle. This is Season 4. The season of choices and the understanding of making those choices.
