I always think of Roswell when I see Sheri appleby so it's always weird/funny to see her as tara.

And it always gets me when Gabrielle says "No you see, I! sleep next to Xena" ha! And the "Doesn't she want to be forgiven?" at the end is really powerful

2024-10-03 22:52:30 +0000 UTCThis episode means a lot to me. It’s one of my TOP 2 favourite episodes of the show. There’s a line in the episode that has really stuck with me throughout the years and still is something I remind myself of even now as often as possible. XENA: “You are what you do. You can recreate yourself every second of your life.” Xena is so great with the morally grey storytelling because the protagonists are morally grey. Xena was evil turned good and Gabrielle is developing into the morally grey. This is what sets it apart from the other cult classic TV shows. It’s not a show about heroes vs villains but rather actions vs consequences in that it depends on the circumstances what happens in the story. And you really can change your nature if you can change what you do. It’s not inherent. But you have to want to do it. That’s the key thing with redemption and forgiveness. Xena just walks away at the end there. It’s not necessarily that she doesn’t want it. She just believes she’s not deserving of it… yet.

2024-10-03 22:03:59 +0000 UTCYou seemed to like Tara, which is nice, as not everyone does. ... It's a good ending that Xena, perhaps feeling that she shouldn't be forgiven, turns away from the ritual at the end; I think it's noteworthy that Gabrielle DOES accept it.
