What's next?
Added 2020-04-29 00:00:00 +0000 UTCWith 1.3 released the feature spotlight is ready to shine somewhere else, but where do we go from here? Well I have a few plans I want to share with you that involves exactly that.
1.3.2 - Journal Update Part 2
It's been mentioned before but 1.3.2 is supposed to act as the update that brings the rest of the planned features that were meant for 1.3. This is currently in development with the hope of releasing within the next 2 weeks. Here's a recap of what's coming:
- Allow custom start and finish dates for any playthrough, not just the first
- Journal view modes to filter what matters to you
- View notes on the journal page, along with a privacy option
- Add more backlog to the backlog, strangely Backlog doesn't have an option for backlogged games so that's being fixed
- Backlog advanced fields, they've been hidden away since 1.3 so let's bring them back
- Lots of other smaller, quality improvements
1.4 - The Commentary Update
This more social-focused update will bring highly requested features to the site once the 1.3.X updates are finished. Here's a preview of what this update will contain:
- Commenting
- Seeing who liked your review
- Spoiler option for reviews
- Review restyling
- And hopefully a few more surprises along the way!
In its current state, the site can make it difficult to interact with other people's content so I'm hoping this will be the start of new social features to help make things a bit more visible and community driven.
Backloggd Gone Mobile
My big summer plan is get native mobile apps for both iOS and Android released! There isn't too much to say on this front yet as it's only just starting but know that Backers will get early beta access as the app builds up to its release.
I just want to give out an extra thank you to everyone who has helped support the site this past month, we've more than doubled the pledge amount and are past self-sustaining territory! Possibly more excitingly it makes the mobile apps even more possible now. I can't wait to see where we go next :)
