He runs, he leaps, he faceplants

Sorry folk but it's more delays.

Back at the beginning of the month we still had some hope we could deliver the update today but we're just not quite ready yet.

We were really counting on getting our best month ever in February but rather the opposite happened; we had all sorts of interruptions and mishaps and we ended up falling well behind where we should be.

In order to publish as soon as possible we broke the update in two; with the bulk of it coming out first and the second part shortly after. Even so we still need an estimate 120 renders, a handful of animations and over 100 alternate versions of existing frames (different outfits etc...); that's without considering coding, sound editing, testing etc...

All in all we expect it's going to take another month.

Once again, we apologize and thank you for your patience.

No offense intended, what I'm trying to say is that going in multiple directions as an individual economy is a poor choice. If you are not equipped with a certain amount of capital, minimal staff costs (one or two people) are your only advantage. In the start-up phase, the main profit depends on hard labor and low labor costs (after all, you don't need to pay yourself a salary). If you want to go far, the original accumulation of capital is essential, but I strongly discourage taking on debt. Of course if you're just doing this for fun, forget what I said earlier.

I really like the college life aspect, super hyped for this update, can't wait to have fun. You thank us but I think it's more for us to do so. I'm a fan of games like yours and I've seen a lot of them be bland and forgettable or good but abandoned so I'm grateful that you keep working on TMS despite your difficulties. Pledge is raised, I don't care if people are getting the game for free I'm just happy it exists.

I agree; big updates one year apart are not a viable business model but that was never the plan. It's a vicious circle, we lose collaborators because we can't pay them which slow down the production process which in return decrease our revenues even further. Even worst to compensate we have to marginalize our other revenue generating projects (comics, commissions self-promotion, etc...) which leave us with even less income to replace them. That said our next updates will probably go smoother since we already know we're working with less people and we can plan accordingly. We also plan on having a recruitment drive of sort; we can't hire artists directly but we can offer a percentage of our revenues; anyone who believe in the project potential may be willing to put in the hours now for a big payoff down the line but admittedly that is asking a lot. As for in-game monetization (patron only content, early release for patron only etc...) I don't believe they can really make a difference, from what I have seen the locked content just get leaked making it just a source of frustration for the average player

It's hard to increase user attention with a year-long update; people always like something new and strong. I also understand the author, low revenue and slow update is a vicious circle. Given that the vast majority of lurkers don't pay, establishing a reasonable tiered open game is a good choice. In the case of a serious mismatch between the game player base and the number of revenue, priority should be given to refining the population of players who are willing to pay, and the others are not your service targets. (Can't say more, there will be other players attack me :-D).The content is very much to my taste, I hope your economic situation will improve and update soon

We're glad you decided to stick around but there should be no feeling of obligation on your side. By a conservative estimate our game has been downloaded by over a million players and out of such a multitude less then 500 ever contributed a single dime. As far as we are concerned anyone who ever contributed a single dollar is an ace in our book.

I'd like to say that we're going our separate ways now as it's really taking too long but guys how can I put it you've got me by the balls

Delays happen. Take your time if you think it's necessary.

A shame, but what else can you do. Fingers crossed. Hopefully it would make development of next update more streamlined.

Take your time and see you in one month.
