The post is either pictorial or philosophical, it's hard to say... Since early childhood, I have adore the cartoon "Balto" and I always wanted to learn how to draw characters from there in a similar official style. And finally, I decided to find the official tutorials on the Balto character and try to repeat them 100% in order to fix the visual image and details of this style in my head. In the process of drawing sketches, I also decided to add my own version of Balto, but already a little in my own style, and all this at first was just to learn how to draw him.

But then, in the process, I wondered what is more valuable for an ordinary artist and viewer, in drawing fanart? Draw fanart of cartoon/movie/game characters with 100% similar official style? Or, instead of completely following the official style, use own style? Thinking about it while drawing these sketches, I wondered what you think about it? Personally, I still can't say which style of the original characters I like more. I have created a survey about this, I am very interested!
