Design for a giant radial alien "star person"
Added 2025-12-08 11:23:18 +0000 UTCGenerous patron K. S. commissioned me to design and illustrate one of the alien beings created by his brother - a race of titanic "Star People".
Drawing a star-shaped form convincingly is tough. So I made out a paper model to better understand its form. Here are the "star people" as seen in three different elevations.
I used this last elevation to prepare my initial drawing.
Note how I drew the eyes separately, and composited them later on.
Screentones, and later on, colour followed.

2025-12-08 17:14:26 +0000 UTCThis is beautiful. I am reminded of a time I envisioned giant "starfish aliens". My concept had chromatophoric communication, had eyes located on the body between the arms, wore towering headgear and were the "big good" in their universe.
