Something I haven't mentioned before, but probably is quite obvious, there's a lot of children in this comic. Like Jack, they can see spirits around the city that adults can't.
I've been asked about Jack's ears before, as to why they're slightly pointy. He's not a changeling, but that's the belief behind it which resulted in a lot of bullying. It's a characteristic that has its roots in his experiments, and more importantly accidents, with shamanism and shapeshifting.
