Looks a bit different to the original batch, dun it? I mentioned in a comment further down that the 6 pages that were made available to read, have had slight alterations done to them. And this is one of them as you can see.
We had another look through the firs 6 pages with my editor and decided to add a small sequence and change the pacing a tad to make it flow better. Pages 1-2 remain the same, but 3-6 have been amended. We've not scrapped anything, but we have replaced some panels we felt didn't work as well as we would've liked. The new pages involve the urchins more, which is something I wanted to emphasize from the beginning. As well as Jack's choice between army and the long queue to the clerk's office.
So. Instead of 6 pages, Act 1 is now 8. As soon as I've got them all done, we'll share them with you. The old Act 1 will still be left for people to read to anyone who'd like to compare them to the new page sequence.
We believe this will work better and help the flow as well as give you a bit better idea of the characters' nature from the beginning.
Can you think of anything more fun than standing in a queue with a screaming baby after you've spent 2 long weeks traveling on a rickety coach.
