Mrs. Goodwill is a little old lady who likes to stare out of windows and stick her nose into people's business. Blessed with old age, she's literally from another century and people find her hard to understand at times. She's very fond of her gin.
She keeps a dosshouse (Mrs. Goodwill's House for Single Gentlemen), specifically meant for members of Loksley's gang, the Bowline Lighters. She forbids the young dockers from speaking to her granddaughter, Anna, and keeps a very close eye on her. Despite her poor eyesight.
Anna helps out a the house, cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, all the typical essential but boring jobs that need doing. She's gotten into the habit of confiscating some of the dockers' clothes on laundry days and uses them to sneak past her grandmother. She loves nothing better than a good story and spends her evenings down at The Anchor with Morrie and the Bowline lot.
You'll get to meet them both fairly early on. Mrs. Goodwill will appear in the 1st Chapter and if the 2nd script stays as it is, Anna will make an appearance there.
