A glossary of scientific names for Snaiad
Added 2021-08-06 08:37:20 +0000 UTCHi all! I'm compiling a massive list of root-words for scientific names on Snaiad - my upcoming book for life on an alien planet. (SEE ATTACHMENT) Alongside the usual Greek-and-Latin root words, I'm also taking all sorts of words from Near-Eastern languages Lycian, Phrygian, Cappadocian Greek, Proto-Turkic, Carian, Hittie & the lot - so that animals can walk around with cool scientific names like Melanoroshotor, Çynoargnathos and Karadaman.
All and any suggestions & resources - esp. word lists and glossaries for extinct Anatolian & Near-Eastern languages and ultra-obscure sources are welcome!

These are awesome! Where did you find the words from the ancient languages? would love to be able to construct a glossary for my project aswell
