2024-09-17 00:10:17 +0000 UTCIn the book "Car Wars" by Jonathan Mantle, he talks about a Brit who gets a call from MI5 after returning from a trip to Czechoslovakia in the late 80s/early 90s. MI5 wants to ask him if he saw anything they might find interesting during his trip. He tells them about a prototype he saw at the Tatra factory he toured. It was basically an MWRAP, long before the US military-industrial complex had thought of such a thing. MI5 was shocked, saying that they'd never heard of such a thing and that they had nothing comparable in the British Army. But, at least it was only a prototype, they said. To which the person who'd gone to the factory replied, "Yes. They'd only built 200 of them."

Got rid of it after 3 months. 2010 Citroen C4 Diesel: Wife is still driving it and getting 60mpg 2008 Peugeot 308 Diesel Wagon: Unbelievable thing. Probably still getting 65mpg somewhere I think that's all the French cars I've had

That said, I will never not fuck with the BMD, they're extremely cool.
