The audio is fine, you quickly get used to it. There is a great episode of Reply All podcast that gives another good background on "the process" but mostly focuses on the sock puppet twitter accounts run by Colangelos wife. What a wild ride. Edit: it is actually over two Reply All episodes. The last 2/3rds of #116 talks about "the process" and the second half of #122 is about the sock puppet accounts.

The shitty audio is actually nice. It's like listening to 660AM in the middle of the night when people call in to complain about the Mets.

I would genuinely be more amenable to rooting for the Sixers if their mascot was, indeed, just Ben Franklin wandering around the arena.

Not to pile on, but yeah, that mic issue makes the episode difficult to watch/listen to. It's not that it's low quality, which can be tolerable, but it's an obvious technical malfunction that's distressing to listen to. I had to dip out after 8 minutes or so. (Edit: just wanted to add that I did spot-check several points later in the episode and it doesn't appear to get better.)

Great episode, a note on Saric - the reason he signed for Efes was because his father went above his agent's head and negotiated the deal after Cibona won the Adriatic league (also if you want to see something cool search for the video of Saric letting of flares with the fans after the win), when the agent wanted him to go straight to the NBA. By all accounts his father is a bit of a liability and a bit mad.
