0.05a Devlog #4

Hey hey hey! I'm back again with another devlog.

Update Progress:

So, currently, I'm working on the renders for the events, and I've been making fast progress. Like I said before, I've done most of the writing beforehand, and I was actually a little scared that I might've lingered on that step for too long before starting the rendering process, but if I can keep up with this pace, then things might be just fine.

Planned Content:

The idea is for this update to be of similar size and content to how the 0.03a was, with a weeks' worth of content. The plan is to have 4 normal-sized events, 1 slightly bigger, as well as some student interaction options and 1 repeatable interaction with Ayumi, if she has enough strikes.

Other features:

Replay: Also, one of the most requested features was a replay system. Seeing as the game is not so small anymore, having to keep saves for your favorite scenes was probably starting to get annoying, so I've been looking into that and how I'd be able to implement it and it seems simple enough. So, I want to have a go at adding it to this next version.

Text and Dialogue: Another issue I've seen people mention, is how there's a lot of pauses in the text during dialogues. While I'm trying to discipline myself to reduce these pauses, this is a choice I've made to how the dialogue would flow, but, I can see how this can be a cause of frustration for some people. So, I'll be adding an option to either reduce the time between these pauses or not have them entirely. The only issue this could cause is to have a scene be a little less immersive than intended or having the text not fit with visuals as much, but, at the end of the day, this'll be a player choice, so it's no big deal.

Alright, I think that's it for now, I'll get back to working on the renders and finish some more events. Once I have more things ready, I'll be releasing some previews and sneak peeks in upcoming post as well as in discord.
