February Update
Added 2024-02-22 13:46:00 +0000 UTCYou deserve far more than a quick exclusive look at some of the footage coming out in the upcoming Episode 39 of Project Binky, but we thought you might like to take a look anyway. It's all hands to the pump trying to nail down what will be an epic tale almost certainly split into two episodes because there's just so much to show you.
In addition to this, we've got some fantastic new content to bring you once Ep.39 hits. We've got a beautiful Jaguar C-type replica film, a factory visit and test drive at Great British Sportscars where Richard gets to blast their amazing Zero demonstrator around the Nottinghamshire countryside, we've got an upcoming film on one of the peerless Retropower's builds - the astonishing supercharged Busso powered Lancia Stratos replica and much more besides.
We hope to reward your patience with not only the shed based shenanigans that you love, but some more cracking content - and plenty of all of it - coming very soon.
Cheers!
Nik, Richard and Ben.

2024-03-06 04:01:39 +0000 UTCI know it'll be worth the wait. As crazy as it is to go to this much work for the instruments, I have taken a similar approach to the problems on my project and have yet to regret it - the time investment sucks, but the results matching what's in my head make it worth it! I have no problem keeping the faith, you guys will deliver something incredible!

2024-02-28 17:30:22 +0000 UTCThe only problem with 3D printing is a shocking lack of Cardboard Aided Design. I hope there are some random flanges that will be necessary for the installation.

2024-02-23 21:01:27 +0000 UTCI didn't say it doesn't take skill, Daniel. You should think before you post.

2024-02-23 08:46:21 +0000 UTCLay out a Mini ITX motherboard and I dare you to still say that layout does not require skill! xD

2024-02-23 08:27:56 +0000 UTCTell that to the guys doing 32 layer designs with all matter of blind and buried vias, controlled impedance and length matching of traces for 3.2Gb/s over 100s of lines! Or making pico-Amp sensitivity analog frontends.

2024-02-22 21:11:10 +0000 UTCOh! I just noticed there will probably be a whole episode on the conversion of a CNC mill to do the soldering. Nice!

2024-02-22 21:10:11 +0000 UTCJust wondering why the order of warning lights is "amb red red amb red red". Wouldn't it more aesthetically pleasing if it were "amb red red red red amb"? (he said knowing it might delay ep39 by another 6 months. ;-)

2024-02-22 19:03:58 +0000 UTCPeople have been trying to print circuit boards like this for years with little success, I can't believe you guys got it to work through sheer stubbornness. When you finish the car please document everything you've learned about the process and share it.

2024-02-22 18:16:43 +0000 UTCI'm glad you're gently working us up to ep 39 (and 40?). I reckon it'd be heart attack time if you surprised us with a full half hour (longer??!) video, and after all this time I'm certainly in the age bracket for it....

2024-02-22 14:57:18 +0000 UTCNice! I was wondering why you weren't just having circuit boards made for you but I knew that there had to be a reason. Even if that reason was "because..._Nik._"
Andy Ihnatko
2024-02-22 14:20:13 +0000 UTCThe scale of difficulty here is crazy. I've done a tiny amount of circuit design.. enough to know that the actual layout of the board is really the easy part; it's the design of the circuit itself that is where the skill lays. It's one thing to have a board all laid out - but it's not until you have it populated [and the code written] that you get to find out if it WORKS. So +1000 respects for even attempting this. This stuff is a special kind of S&M.
