2024-05-02 20:49:47 +0000 UTCHonestly kind of surprised you guys missed the interpretation that this very homoerotic film where sex is destructive (but unavoidable and still joyous) and a disease spreads through blood and other bodily fluids (that was made in the 1980’s!) can be seen as being about AIDS - I think it is definitely also about technology transforming society and interpersonal relations, but I wonder if it’s much of a forehead slapping “Oh Yeah!” moment to think about this movie in that light
