EARLY LOOK at Module Testing

for the price performance ratio I'm sticking with the Achilles pro it's barely behind in tests and beats the True-D in a few of them and I would love to see how the Hukiya performs.

Great footage off the DVR, makes it so much easier to see the difference in modules. Clearview clearly outperforms every one however, will it make a difference that it is using a ground unit/station and not a headset module? The Rapidfire module certainly came a very close second, I'd like to see the Rapidfire in a comparison video with Clearview once Clearview release their goggle module. A great video JB many thanks.

Yea, the Clearview wins, but that doesn't count, the Rapidfire isn't far behind and at half the price for a great connection during the flight. I do wonder what is going on with it before you took off though. It was doing some weird things. But besides that the other all look pretty much the same to me. Each one did a little better in different circumstances. Which says a lot considering the prices differences.

The side-by-side and on top of each other format is great for comparing these. You can really see the loss of sync that is happening when the modules start loosing frames. I have an idea what is going on, but I need to do some testing in my lab to prove it. "Turn on oscilloscope! I've got a little job for you..." :)

What you think about quality calculation via software same as MuteFPV? We'll get clear numbers and rating can be created.

Clearview, rapidfire, then commander v2 Would love to see how the commander screens compare to the hdo screens.

Well Bardwell you did it again, costing me more money, since I don't want a ground station i think ill have to retire my trusty True D and go Rapidfire. I still am looking forward to the multipath test video. Good job on the testing.

Looking forward even more to the arrival of my rapidFIRE module, hopefully in the next week or two! I noticed one of IRC's race pilots was using the rapidFIRE with a pair of Omnis mounted orthogonally. I'm curious to see how a pair of Triumphs or Spiros will work as compared to the VAS Crosshair and Triumph I plan to use for distance and penetration scenarios...

I made my decision months ago but I still am super enticed by these comparison videos. Don't think I can watch them objectively though. Always find myself staring at my own receiver and thinking "it's the best".

Nice production. To me, it's still inconclusive save the one unit that will be mounted on a tripod and not on a moving head. Since I run the TrueD, I have considered running a high quality piece of coax to a mount on the left side of the goggles. I'm almost certain there could be a benefit from the greater seperation using two omnis.

Nice work - the DVR makes it easy to see without any glare. I do get the issues but am loving this test. Bring on the multipath :-)
