If you use one model on your radio to rule them all, how do you resolve the end points for each quad?

Hi Joshua, I have a Unify pro 5V powered by a Matek PDB. Until I now changed my rates to rel. high (1300°) it worked perfectly, but now I get a real blackscreen (also no OSD) when I do rel fast front/backflips until the flip is totally completed. To save the quad in that situation, I now again implemented Angle-Mode over a switch. Can you imagine being the reason something different than a "loose plug connection" which I already checked?

Re ND filters and go pro cases. Tell the guy to buy nd filter gels instead of hard filters you can use the gels onsnything with tape. (Gels are flexible sheets of nd material used often used to control lights/ flashes in photography/cinematography)

Hey Joshua, My question is quite general and it is: Why does there seem to be a sheer lack of solid and progressive development in Analogue Goggles? I have been kinda time-lining the release of FPV products and it just seems to a large degree to be sitting still. You may not agree with me but if that it so then I am open to learning what you know? It feels like the actual manufactures are not researching or pushing any boundaries.. in my view of course..

I'd like to know how Betaflight overlays RSSI on an active channel? (Using it for arm/Rssi on a BabyhawkR and i works fine. Just curious, and thinking it may come in handy for when I'm short on UARTS.

hello Joshua . I have a couple of easy ? for you today. First of all both of my quads have flat lenses and it seems that I keep drifting into tree branches on my sides that i cant see. I was wondering if the fish eye lenses will let me see them pesky branches? I was wondering if it takes a lot to switch? Also did you start out on a sim or did you just jump in and fly? I just jumped in to it but i am going to get a vid card to run one before i try freestyle tricks. thanks for you content between you and stewart i have learned something every day.

How did you get into quad copters in the first place.

One more question. I have poor camera control with the JB board. I am able to get into the adjustments for my name and to turn on and off the OSD stuff with the right stick, but it is hit or miss even doing that. The left stick just won't get into the control menu. It seems then inputs from the sticks are too touchy. What do I do to fix this issue?

Hi Joshua. There are many holy wars in our local community about ESC (not 4in1) connection to Flight Controller (2 power wires + and -, 2 signal wires) . What is your opinion about signal wires connection? Should we use 2 wires which is twisted or single signal wire, taking in account that distance between ESC and FC not more than 1.5-2cm? I’d like to see what your thoughts are on the difference between a “well tuned” quad with premium parts VS a completely stock tune aside from dynamic filtering and notch filters set properly.

If you could write your own flight controller software, and create a gui for it, what would you add and/or remove from the 3 currently available to make it JB amazing.

My question is more about the hobby more generally - where do you think our tech is going, and how do we bridge the knowledge gap so many newbies have that we who've been doing this a while, have gotten over. I feel like it's a mighty hill we have to climb as a hobby to get more people involved.

I built a quad using parts from my local hobby shop (EMAX red bottoms and EMAX ESCs) and got it flying but it has always had a bad oscillation that gets worse the longer it is armed. I asked the EMAX reps at Flite Fest East and they said the motors were 'within spec' of vibration and weren't the cause. The only thing that is odd is the ESCs aren't the same - two are the EMAX Bullet 20A and two are the EMAX Bullet 30A as the hobby shop only had two of each. My troubleshooting question is: can mismatched ESCs cause this kind of behavior and if so - why? Thanks for the awesome content! -Bob

I just purchased my first set of BL Heli 32 escs, although I purchased one of the smaller ones (Spedix 30A) that do not have built-in current sensing. My question for when I go to install them is: what advantages do I get from connecting esc telemetry? Will telemetry make my quad fly better? Mostly I'm out of serial ports on my F3 flight controllers and I'm wondering if it is worth the trouble to connect telemetry at this time. I'm not certain I'll be able to attend the live stream (I'm in PST), but I look forward to watching the recording! Thank you!

I am moving over to beataflght from KISS, perhaps you could touch upon some basic things to be aware of when starting with beta flight, I know you have awesome beta flight how to videos and I watch them all, but I am a little uncertain of things like the relationship between min check and min throttle as it relates to setting up air mode, with KISS, once I set min command, air mode just seems to work.......

Question: I have a quad with the new JB board. It flies well and everything is working except my smart audio. I set this quad up with Crossfire micro RX like you said. Now I want to set up smart audio to my Mach 2 or TB VTX. So I see in your manual how to, but am a little confused. I don't want to mess it up. Your commands in the manual, are they in order, and why motor tab? Can you clear it up and help me get the LED pad remapped to work. CLI commands are new to me. Is there another pad that can work so I can still have my LED pad? Also please a quick rundown in BF to set the smart audio up after remapping. Thanks. Sorry can't call in, working until 5pm PST.

Please discuss troubleshooting desyncs. Use of blackbox and other techniques. I have been plagued with them lately. Maybe older motors? Even getting micro desyncs during flight but can't find them in blackbox log as the motor doesn't go 100%. Also, several of the full desync crashes have resulted in the battery flying off. AND... how quickly is data being written to blackbox? When the battery flys off how much data is lost?

I'd love to talk about a topic that that's a bit wonky scientifically speaking in fpv community atm. - Given there's so many options for frames, prop sizes, motors, batteries I'd love to hear your opinions on strategies for selecting your drive train. Is disk loading and thrust/weight the answer and should we use those metrics when designing a quad? Cheers :)

The 100 amps shown in the osd is for all 4 esc's combined... so that would be about 33 (and a third) amps per esc. Since a 30 amp esc might have a burst rating of 40 - 50 (or more, depends on esc), that 33 is well within it's limits... I'd love to hear a few words on current limiting though, what esc actually have implemented it, etc.

Beyond the hobbyist pilot, where do you see this technology taking us? Which industries do you think will be first to pick up and profit from quadcopter hardware/software advances. How can someone position themselves to take advantage of that! (Asking out of jealousy that you've quit your job).

Joshua, I would really like to see some information on ESC Current Limiting - Specifically I have heard you say that you see your AMPs go up to 100 in burst situations, but in general ESCs are rated as ~30 with peaks ~50, so shouldn't 100AMPs fry all of your electronics? I am running BL_Heli_32s and they state that we should use current limiting without recommendations at what level. I set mine at either 45 or 50 AMPs and I don't see any throttling issues that I have heard others report.

I'll see if I can join to watch live. But my main two things are JBF4 orientation. And assuming I put it with the arrow pointing to the back of the quad, what do I need to change in BF orientation settings. 2nd question is on props. 2 or 3 blade. There's lots of videos out there, but you tend to explain things in a way a noob can understand Thx!
