What FC should I build next?

This is a good kind of problem to have! I have too many interesting FC's and I can't decide which one to build out next. Help me decide in the comments. Choices are:

Omnibus AIO F3 with Betaflight OSD

Sirin FPV

Furious Kombini (plus super-secret I have one of the very first OSD+VTX boards, so this build could not be made public until that product was cleared for release by Furious).

Comments

My vote is Omnibus. Just got one in but it will be a bit before I build.

Matt Jones

I guess it was the Kombini. Actually, it wasn't, but the Kombini/Rampage was the first one to actually hit my channel, because the Armadillo/Omnibus build got hung up by needing to get a replacement PDB. Right now, I think the Omnibus Pro is pretty compelling. Built in Betaflight OSD, PDB with current sensor, and SD card reader. Hard to ask for much more. Hmm... 99% sure it has a current sensor anyway.

Joshua Bardwell

Did you make a decision here Joshua? I'm interested in the topic generally, and now with the advent of Dshot and compatibility issues with various flight controllers, the increasing integration of FC's/OSD's/PDB's etc (and the compromises that entails), the new F4 boards etc etc, it ain't getting any easier to make a decision ;-)

The Armadillo build is on hold right now because I damaged the PDB. Oops. In general, I think the Omnibus is a really good value at $40. It's like getting an integrated OSD for $5.

Joshua Bardwell

kombini

I ordered an Omnibus Pro (the standard omnibus doesn't come with current sensor), so I'd really like to know what you think of it!

Antoine Jacqmot

I currently have content queued up for about a week, so not before then for sure. I would say in the 2-3 weeks time frame. I will probably be working on one of the builds this week.

Joshua Bardwell

When do you think you'll have any videos on the FC's in question?

Baker

Omnibus is my target!

I'd like to know your general thoughts about these combined flight controllers while you're testing them. Obviously if one component, especially a regulator, blows then the whole lot has gone. Personally I think as long as the esc's are kept separate them its acceptable ;-) Oh, and quality is kept up.

I go for the Omnibus

F3 FC and black box looking for a all in 1 FC

Although Richard Garrett makes good point I vote for the Omnibus since it's the one that I'm most curious about whether or not it's a piece of crap that's been put together just to join the hype train of boards with integrated functionalities.

I vote the Sirin - The SirinFPV FC is what the Singularity FC should have been. The Singularity is 400mW however so no good for racing, and it does NOT have an OSD. http://impulserc.com/codelayer-singularity-stm32f3-flight-controller

Sirin FPV since this is the only one available right now with built in OSD + VTX + Blackbox. Integration of components is the future and I want the future to be now!

Kombini, Omnibus, Sirin

Omnibus!

the most exciting would be the furious secret product of course..:) but until then I would really love to see working a built-in vtx, so I vote fore Sirin FPV

I'd like to see whatever you think has peaked your interest the most 😊

Hayden de Dulin

If I already had a separate video just about the Betaflight OSD, would that change your vote?

Joshua Bardwell

For now, the question is which one I build next. I will build them all eventually, and that's independent of a shootout/roundup.

Joshua Bardwell

Not in this roundup.

Joshua Bardwell

Omnibus for sure. It's new and interesting with the built in osd.

Baker

Are any f4 FC's?

Hayden de Dulin

Wow, that is a tough decision! Can I vote for a shootout between all three? ;) If only one then do the Omnibus, it looks like the most economical solution.

Damion Gundlach

Omnibus for sure.

After the short investigation i would say Kombini

My vote is for the Omnibus. I'm really curious to see what the betaflight OSD is all about.

The sirin or the kombini

I would say the Furious Kombini. While I like the idea of combo boards, I guess I just need to see a really good one in action. I currently am building with a Furious Piko BLX and have hit some snags and am trying to track down if it is something I did or the board is having other issue.

More details sir, i would like to have one on my next build.
