"It's All The Same" Choreography - Take One

https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=AC06B68F01DD1B5E!137211&authkey=!AFhidF7sAO_33jE&ithint=video%2cmp4

I'm working on a new project, and Patrons may be the only ones who ever see it. In one of his vlogs, Skitzo mentioned that he always flies with music. I've seen FGA's performances to music at Dubai and New York, and I would guess he goes so far as to choreograph.

Normally, when I fly freestyle, I just do whatever and sync it to music later. But this time I'm doing something different. I've picked a track--"It's All The Same" by Signal Path--and I'm flying pack after pack to the same music, trying to actually develop choreography. It doesn't mean that each flight will be identical, but hopefully the resulting performance will be more in tune with the music, and show more coherence and flow than if I was just making it up as I go.

The reason this project may never be seen is that I can't upload copyrighted music to my YouTube channel without risking a copyright strike. Most music will simply result in the video being claimed by the copyright owner so that they get all ad revenue, but I don't want to take even the chance of getting a strike. But I'm happy to share the video with my Patrons via this OneDrive link. Please keep it to yourself.

The above video is approximately my 15th repetition of this song, over the course of about a week. It's the first one where I felt a little bit good about it at the end. It's the first one where I felt that it was starting to come together. I'm sharing it with you even though it's not perfect, because I thought you would enjoy watching the process of (hopefully) improvement.

Awesome... history in the making I reckon.

In regards to Skitzo's tuning technique.... I agree if you have a smooth non-aggressive flying style like he does, and that pinch claw stick technique he has I'm sure doesn't allow much for slapping the stick hard center very easily. I don't think I would be happy tuning using his method since I still like really like the way hard stops look. I mix in hard stops with smooth rolls and flips and such. He rarely has as hard a stop as many other pilots have.

I've wanted to fly with music for a while now, but I can't fly for fun until I'm satisfied with a tune, and my Epic 235 has taken longer than my retunes on my QAVR which I'm very familiar with. The frame being new to me and it being all KISS, how different things manifest themselves on KISS is a bit different that it has added to my tune time as well. In any case, Joshua.... the flight looks good....it flying is similar as the person flying is the same, but the pacing of the moves seemed different than your uses pacing. Looked good.

Yup. I'm definitely trying to sync the copter movements to the beat, and also to sync the flight style with different sections of the song.

That came out really nice and I can see where the practice with the song has paid off. If you mixed in a few different flying spots it could really make it come alive. And definitely try a royalty free song. The youtube would love to see it I am sure.

Cheeztastic. Definitely agree with Skitzo that music will inspire and pushes you :)

Great job Josh! After I saw Skitzo's video where he talked about flying with music I had to try it myself and got to admit, it makes flying much more enjoyable, and super fun to try and sync tricks to the beat.

I thought it meshed well Josh. I don't know if it was intentional but it seemed like you were keeping beat with the copter. Pretty cool bro. I haven't tried this but I will say Skitzo is right, music is a must when I fly. It seems like you can hit your "flow" quicker. Keep it up brother and tame that prop wash will ya! Just kidding! That worked really well josh, I enjoyed that. It's really hard trying to find music to for your video after the fact. Painstakingly so sometimes. Usually takes me ages to find some of the right length to fit my video's. Might have to give this a go myself. Why don't you find a royalty free track you like (try looperman website) and do the same thing again, won't have to worry about copyright strikes that way. I've uploaded a couple of tracks in some of my video's that were copyrighted, all I get is an email from YouTube saying the owner has claimed rights to any revenue it makes (yeah right!) and that ads may appear on it. The last one I uploaded (raw dvr footage) attracted such an email. But then, I have 44 subscribers, not thousands like you so are probably not too bothered about lowly little me lol All the best mate, Darren. (mrmurder75)
