It's been three years since the Sabat reaction already?! Man, I can't believe it, either. I'm not sure why Nippon Ichi games aren't more popular. I guess the tactical RPG genre is too niche? And if anyone has heard of them, it's 99.9% because of Disgaea, their flagship series. But they do have a lot of other games, too. All part of the same multiverse, too, if I'm not mistaken. I hate that the only thing I remember from the Makai Kingdom OST is Sabat, because it's the hub theme and you hear it all the time. And the fact that Alex's theme has a Spanish flair also tingled some distant memory. But other than those, I don't remember jack. And I finished the game, did most extras, and was old enough to appreciate music. I remember the characters, I remember gameplay, I remember the story, I don't remember the music. I don't know what happened. Sidenote, it's funny to me that when they localized the game to English, they replaced the English word "phantom" with the Japanese word "makai", which roughly translates to "netherworld" or "demon realm". Maybe they didn't want people to think this game is connected to another Nippon Ichi game, Phantom Brave (shameless plug, I've requested some songs from PB, please look forward to them). Anyway, enjoy your deep dives, Jesse. Would be cool to see a Nippon Ichi game playthrough someday. These games need more love.
