Unexpextancy is fascinating as it is so good on its own and yet it almost performs the role of a credits theme as it takes several motifs from the rest of the game, making it feel like a true culmination of all the levels you’ve played before that moment. There’s so many more tracks that are absolutely amazing in the game, case in point, there’s a song call “what’s on the kid’s menu” and that song is great, much less my favorite song “Thousand March”. Can’t wait for more Pizza Tower!

2025-05-29 03:35:47 +0000 UTCAlright, little odd that you were told so strongly to listen to the Wario Land theme before this apparently without any explanation why. But the short answer is that Pizza Tower takes a LOT of inspiration from Wario Land, Wario Land 4 in particular. One of the main mechanics of both games is that every level ends with you activating some kind of self-destruct timer, then having to race as fast as you can all the way back to the start, often through new paths, while everything is falling apart around you. It's tense as hell, as not making it back in time results in you losing ALL of your progress and having to start the level all over again. And the song that plays for such a chaotic race against time is "Hurry Up!" in Wario Land 4 and "It's Pizza Time!" in Pizza Tower. That's the connection.
