By coincidence or otherwise, you just listened to the battle themes of the two remake-exclusive superbosses back to back.
To give some bits of context, Prince Mush is part of a fighting tournament you go through in the game's third chapter. He was the former champion but has mysteriously disappeared for reasons you end up uncovering by the end. Afterwards, he promises to return to the ring and... somewhat infamously is never seen or mentioned again. Until the remake that is, where he messages you a few chapters later, challenging you to come back and face him, resulting in one of the most intense battles in the game with one of the most intense themes.
On the flipside is Whacka, a goofy little mole creature who appears in a few Paper Mario games and always with the same purpose. You whack him, and he drops his "Whacka Bumps", one of the strongest healing items in the series. Whack him too many times though and he disappears for good, possibly with brain damage. Until the remake that is, where he then replaces Bonetail at the end of the bonus dungeon. Whacking him again results in him thinking you want to "play" and triggering the fight. Which is why that theme has such heavy juxtaposition between "this thing is going to murder you" and "he's just a silly little guy".
