Taking suggestions for VGM Vibes 9 | Boss Themes
Added 2024-12-12 20:36:50 +0000 UTCHello and happy holidays! I will now start taking suggestions which will then go into a voting phase for episode 9, the infamous Boss theme. This will be my biggest episode yet, please make sure to read this whole post on how it will work.
First and foremost, I already have 40 picks of my own, so my picks from the community this time around will be narrowed down to a max of 5. There will be another boss episode in the future and that one will be mostly community picks so don't worry.
2nd; this time I'd really like to prioritize boss themes I've heard on the channel already. If you're aware of any boss themes I've done, big or small, let me know please.
Lastly, for this episode, any and all boss themes will be considered.
All genres of games of course are allowed!

2024-12-13 21:30:35 +0000 UTCPerfect opportunity to finish out the Pandaemonium raid from ffxiv with "Athena, The Tireless One" as the big culmination/medley of the series. As a reminder you reacted to "Hic Synt Leones" and "Scream" from the same raid before and when you do cover the above suggestion there is also "One Amongst the Weary" as basically the 3rd piece of what the final song is building on. For ingame context Athena is the head researcher whos ambitions to become a God caused all the bad in the raid to happen, including manipulating her own husband and treating her child as nothing but a tool.

"Big Arm" from Sonic generations would be my pick, cuz it just blew you away if its already in your picks then i would nominate something else i requested a while ago, "I'm here" from Sonic Frontiers. the only titan theme you were missing. And if open requests are not on the table, "find your flame" from sonic frontiers instead. (note, these are contigency picks) And there are still so many other sonic bosses you heard already, a second visit to this kind of VGM vibes is definitely warranted lol

2024-12-12 22:08:38 +0000 UTCI'm sure one of the many Octopath boss themes you've heard (I think you've heard... 9 at this point?) are already among your considerations, so I'll go a different route: Live a Live - Megalomania Of note, Megalomania, as you may have been able to guess from the title, was a big inspiration for Megalovania (and Live a Live in general is one of Toby Fox's favorite games and a general inspiration for Undertale), so if you're planning on putting the latter in this episode, Megalomania alongside it just makes sense

I wouldn't necessarily say its the best boss theme in the series, but I definitely think it gives some of the best "Boss Theme" Vibes. As in, when you hear it during a fight you actually feel like you are fighting for your life, and it makes it seem as if this character you are fighting is a PROBLEM and they are going to mess you up.
