So the lyrics, outside of the English ones, are intended to be Martian. The game predominantly takes place on Mars which in the 2170's has been colonized. And the song itself is the opening theme, it does not play at any other point in the game. The main gist of the series is that in the 2100's there is tension between Earth and its colonies on and around Mars which gives rise to resistance movements which want to make Mars independent. To this end they discover a new element known as Metatron which they use to construct a new type of mecha, Orbital Frames, which far surpass the standard issue LEV's that the regular military uses. Two of these Orbital Frames are eventually stolen by the Earth government and hidden on a civilian colony orbiting Jupiter. One Martian resistance movement discovers where they're hidden and attacks the colony to recapture them. A civilian, Leo Stenbuck, discover's one of the two, Jehuty, and boards it to escape danger, thus beginning the story of the first Zone of the Enders game. Unfortunately if you want to play the first game, options are limited. It was only ever released on PS2 and on PS3/Xbox 360 as an HD Remaster(the PS3 version is better by a mile.), while its sequel, The Second Runner, was remastered a second time for PS4 and eventually released on PC. Second Runner is generally considered the best of the two which is why it gets a lot more attention. I have a lot of fond memories of it from my childhood and have bought every re-release of the games.
