The sound of this song also warped my audio for the next upcoming video :D Narrowed it down to C64 soundwaves, very odd. Small price to pay.

2024-08-01 02:06:58 +0000 UTCIt's true, this song has nothing to do with kung fu, and it is very common for C64 game music to sound completely unrelated to the game concept. There is also an in-game theme that's more obviously supposed to sound like a martial arts movie, but it's just a little looping jingle that doesn't really showcase Galway's skill or the C64's capabilities. Martin Galway was mostly inspired by (at points just straight-up covering) Jean-Michel Jarre's Les Chants Magnétiques here. The game was arcade-first (and yes, a definite precursor to Street Fighter 1!), but this particular song was C64-only.
